A good portion of the sets were built on stage at Sony Studios in Culver City. I was in charge of much of the Kree world sets, including Vers’ Quarters and MarVell’s Ship.
For MarVell’s Ship, we first built the Drop Ship Bay, Holding Pen, and connecting Corridors and Airlock. Once those scenes were completed, we transformed the Drop Ship Bay and some Corridor walls into a portion of the Lab set. Then a portion of those set walls were used to make the Int. Hangar Bay, where the Quadjet landed.
As you may see in a number of the photos, that the floors are very shiny. The floors were made of aluminum sheets, that were given a clear coat to help protect them. We still, however, asked the crew to wear protective booties over their shoes to prevent scratching the surface. I’ve been on a number of shows where we ask this of the crew, and it’s never popular. But we do what we can to keep the set looking nice during filming.
